Who We Are

Mission & History

The Milwaukee Rental Housing Resource Center (MKE RHRC) was founded out of a shared community commitment to address Milwaukee’s housing challenges with compassion, collaboration, and innovation. Born from the collective efforts of housing advocates, legal aid providers, and community organizations, the RHRC was established to ensure that tenants, landlords, and service providers have a central place to turn for reliable housing support. Since its inception, the RHRC has served as a collaborative network of partners dedicated to connecting residents with the tools and resources they need to achieve housing stability. Whether someone is facing eviction, seeking rental assistance, navigating tenant rights, or looking for education and mediation services, the RHRC brings multiple experts under one roof to provide coordinated, people-centered solutions.

Our Mission:
To prevent homelessness and promote housing stability by connecting residents and landlords to resources, education, and support.

Our Vision

Looking Ahead: The Future of RHRC

The RHRC is expanding its impact through the MKE RHRC Housing Stability Initiative—a coalition of diverse, cross-sector partners working together to strengthen Milwaukee’s housing ecosystem. In the coming years, we aim to:

  • Broaden access to mediation and legal representation services
  • Increase the availability of rent assistance
  • Build consistent, trusted educational resources for tenants and landlords alike

Through collaboration and innovation, the Milwaukee Rental Housing Resource Center will continue to serve as a trusted convener, connecting people to the knowledge, resources, and support needed to prevent eviction and promote long-term housing stability across our community.
